Erasmus+ Scholarship — Europe
Study across multiple European universities with EU funding
Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) are prestigious masters programmes funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme. These programmes are offered by a consortium of at least 3 universities in different countries, meaning you study in 2-3 European countries during your degree. For Nepali students (classified as Partner Country students), Erasmus Mundus offers generous scholarships covering tuition, living expenses, travel, and insurance. Hundreds of EMJM programmes are available across all academic fields.

Application Process
We have streamlined the study abroad application process into clear, manageable steps. Our team guides you through each stage to maximize your chances of admission.
Research EMJM Programmes
Browse the Erasmus Mundus catalogue (available on the European Commission website) to find programmes in your field. Each programme has its own consortium of universities, curriculum, and application process. There are over 180 active programmes across all disciplines.
Prepare Application Documents
Typical requirements include academic transcripts, degree certificate, CV/resume, motivation letter, recommendation letters (2-3), English proficiency certificate, and passport copy. Some programmes require a research proposal or portfolio. Each programme has its own application form and portal.
Submit Applications
Apply directly to the EMJM programme consortium through their application portal. Deadlines are typically between October and January for programmes starting the following September. You can apply to multiple EMJM programmes simultaneously.
Selection
Each programme consortium evaluates applications and selects scholarship recipients. As a Partner Country (Nepal) applicant, you compete for the Partner Country scholarship quota. Results are typically announced between March and May.
Visa & Pre-Departure
Upon acceptance, the consortium assists with your visa application for the first country of study. You will need separate residence permits for each country you study in, but the programme provides guidance. Arrive in Europe before the programme starts, usually in September.
Multi-Country Study
Begin your programme at the first university. During the 1-2 year programme, you will study at 2-3 universities in different European countries, experiencing different academic cultures and building a Pan-European network.
Costs & Scholarships
Understanding the financial commitment is crucial for planning your study abroad journey. Here is a breakdown of typical costs and available funding options.
The Erasmus Mundus scholarship covers tuition fees up to EUR 9,000 per year for Partner Country students. This is paid directly to the consortium. Actual tuition varies by programme, but the scholarship cap covers most programmes.
The monthly allowance of EUR 1,400 is designed to cover accommodation, food, transport, and personal expenses across all countries in the programme. Living costs vary significantly between European countries — Scandinavian and Western European countries are more expensive, while Southern and Eastern European countries are more affordable. Most scholars manage comfortably on this allowance.
The total scholarship value for a Partner Country student like Nepal is approximately EUR 49,000 for a 2-year programme. This includes tuition (EUR 9,000/year), living allowance (EUR 1,400/month for 24 months), travel and installation (EUR 3,000/year), and insurance.
Costs are estimates and vary by university and city. Call +977-9849998031 or fill out the form for personalized cost estimates based on your preferred universities.
Student Life
Studying abroad is about more than just academics. Here is what you can expect from life as an international student.
Studying through Erasmus Mundus is a unique experience — you live in 2-3 different European countries during your Masters. This means experiencing different cultures, languages, and academic systems. Many scholars describe it as the most enriching experience of their lives.
European student life is vibrant. Universities have strong student associations, cultural events, and social programmes. Many cities are very walkable or bikeable, and public transport is excellent. The Erasmus student community (both Mundus and exchange students) provides an instant international network.
As a Nepali student in Europe, you will find growing South Asian communities in major cities. Indian and Nepali restaurants and grocery stores are available in most European cities. The living allowance is sufficient for a comfortable student lifestyle, and some countries allow part-time work alongside your studies.
